Fantuz’s Grey Cup Hopes Fall Short
Chatham’s Andy Fantuz and the Hamilton Tiger Cats fell short in the 101st Grey Cup, losing 45-23 to the host Saskatchewan Roughriders.
“We played a better football team today,” said Tiger Cats head coach Kent Austin in a post game press conference. “They were just better, they were more physical, they were stronger.”
Fantuz was the top receiver for the Tiger Cats in the game, making 7 receptions for 76 yards, but failed to find the endzone in a game where Saskatchewan dominated offensively.
Fantuz’s former Roughriders teammate Chris Getzlaf was named the game’s Most Outstanding Canadian, while Kory Sheets was the game’s MVP.
