Locals Continue Winning With Ironmen

Wallaceburg Lacrosse products Aaron Underwood, Brock Redford, and Kyle Dawson won their second tournament of the fall field lacrosse season over the weekend with the Grand River Ironmen.

The Ironmen went undefeated on the weekend in the Ithaca 2013 Turkey Shoot Out. Traveling to Ithaca New York, home of Cornell University, the Ironmen would win 4 straight to capture the 2013 title.

In game one against the Ottawa Nemesis, the boys warmed up on a chilly day with a 21–0 victory. Game 2 facing the North Stars would produce a 10–3 win putting them into the semis where they would face Northern Lax from Toronto. The Ironmen would defeat Northern 11–9 and head to the finals where they would defeat FCA 11–6.

With two tournament wins on the season and a top 5 finish in Charlotte at the regional qualifier, the Ironmen will be playing in the Dick Sporting Goods Championships in Wesley Chapel Florida in December.
