The Chatham Cement Man Petite ‘A’ Thunder ringette team went undefeated over the weekend at the St. Catharines Ringette Association tournament, capping their perfect weekend with a gold medal.

Erica Anderson scored two goals and Natasha Anderson and Leah Thompson added one a piece for the 4-2 win over Elora Fergus in the championship game. In total, the Thunder finished the tournament with a 5-0 record, and outscored their opponents by a lopsided margin of 32-9. Audrey McKay-Barr had a solid weekend in net, backstopping the Petite Thunder to each of their wins.

The Thunder began pool play with an 8-3 win over Tillsonburg. Courtney Legere had two goals and three assists, while Lydia Haron and Natasha Anderson had two goals and one assist a piece. and Hannah McLeod and Leah Thompson each added a goal and an assist. Emilie Newman had two assists with Erica Anderson and Ireland DaSilva also assisting on one.

Legere scored twice and assisted on one, leading her team in a 7-2 win over Burlington. Delaney George, Erica Anderson, Harron, McLeod, and Thompson had singles with Newman picking up three assists. Kylyn Murphy, Erica Anderson, DaSilva, Legere and Thompson assisted on one a piece.

Legere continued the scoring streak with a hat trick in Chatham’s 5-1 win over Oshawa. Newman and Erica Anderson each had singles with assists by Natasha Anderson, Newman, Legere, Thompson and Harron, who had two.

The final round-robin game saw Chatham easily defeat Elora Fergus 8-1. Legere, Harron and DaSilva scored two a piece with Newman and Erica Anderson chipping in one. Legere also had three assists, while Natasha Anderson helped out with two, and McLeod, Harron and Chloe Crone each assisted on one goal.
