Chatham-Kent Wildcats Major Atom Boys – Guelph Champs – Contributed Photo

The Chatham-Kent Wildcats Major Atom boys team went 4-0 this past weekend to win the Guelph CYO Tournament.

Chatham-Kent opened the tournament with a 62-24 victory over Cambridge, before dominating Guelph CYO 50-23 in their second game.

In the semi-final, the Chatham-Kent Wildcats featured a balanced attack, that saw 9 of 11 players record points in a 45-30 win over the Guelph Phoenix. Evan Torres, Jackson Moon, Ethan Jordan, Weiler Dunlop, and Luke Smolders each scored 6-points for the Wildcats.

Advancing to face a tough Kitchener-Waterloo Vipers team in the final, Chatham-Kent took home the gold medal, edging the Vipers 42-37. Ethan Jordan topped all Chatham-Kent scorers notching 13-points, while Russell Jacques had 12-points, Smolders had 8-points, and Torres had 7.
