Ballhawks Win Challenge Cup

The Chatham Ballhawks U16 Boys braved a wet foggy morning and traveled to the Stratford Agri-plex for the OVA Challenge Cup Saturday January 11 and won Gold.

The Ballhawks won their pool, defeating the Waterloo Tigers 25-6, 26-16, and LVC Inferno 24-14,21-25,15-9. In the quarters they defeatedthe Guelph Grizzlies 25-17, 25-16, before beating the Stratford Cobras 25-18, and 25-6 in the semi-finals.

In the Championship Final they played the Kitchener Waterloo Predators 25-21, 11-25, 17-15 for gold.

The team also has three athletes, Trevor Everitt, Dawson Gehl, and Pierce Johnson, who were selected to play for Region 3 West at the Ontario Winter Games.
