The Chatham-Kent Wildcats Major Atom Boys, and Novice Girls both won gold this past weekend.

At the Huron Lakers Tournament in Sarnia, the Novice Girls won all four games they played en route to gold.

The beat the London Ramblers 36-20, Huron Lakers 34-16, and Tecumseh Saints 41-22, before beating the Saints again 31-28 in the gold medal game.

The Major Atom Chatham-Kent Wildcats went 4-0 to win the London Gold Medal. Chatham-Kent opened the tournament with a 36-31 win over the Guelph Phoenix. Russell Jacques scored 12-points, while Ethan Jordan had 8-points for the Wildcats.

Facing the Cambridge Centaurions, all twelve Wildcats hit the scoresheet in their 46-17 win.

Their third game, against the St. Thomas Shock, Evan Torres paced all scorers with 11-points, helping Chatham-Kent to their second 36-31 win of the tournament. Jordan had 8-points, while Jacques had 7, and Jackson Moon and Bennett Schaffer each chipped in with 6.

In the final, facing the Guelph Phoenix again, Chatham-Kent featured a balanced attack, with Jordan and Torres scoring 8-points, and Moon, Hunter Blommers, Luke Smolders, and Stefan Borovacinin each scoring 6-points, as the Wildcats defeated Guelph 41-29 to take Gold.
