For the past several seasons, the GOJHL has typically had one 100-point scorer, and this year, it appears that player will be Chatham Maroons sniper Kyle Brothers.

Brothers, who currently sits with 47 goals, will also likely score 50-goals. Though 37 games this season, Brothers has an incredible 47 goals and 47 assists for 94 points.

He has 10 games remaining to break the 100-point mark, which shouldn’t be difficult, considering Brothers has 35-points in his last 10 games, including 5 goals Sunday night in a win over the Lambton Shores Predators.

“Our line is starting to develop a lot of chemistry and we’re playing really good right now,” said Brothers about his recent production.

The last Maroons forward to hit 100-points, was current Chatham Maroons assistant coach Tyler Roeszler, who scored 113-points in 2006-2007 before moving on to a successful NCAA career.

Brian Wiseman holds the Maroons’ individual season scoring record, compiling 147-points for the Maroons in 1989-90, with the second most points going to Mike Mayhew with 117 in 1993-94. For most goals in a season, the record also belongs to Wiseman with 70, followed by Mayhew with 64, and Brent Rumble with 53 in 1996-97.

Brothers however, did claim his own record with his 5 goal game against Lambton Shores, setting the Maroons record for most goals in a game.

Brothers’ scoring pales some of the Maroons’ most notable players including NHLer Ryan Jones, who scored 69-points in 2003-2004.

The Chatham Maroons have 10 games remaining this season, including this Friday in St. Thomas, and this Sunday at home against the Sarnia Legionnaires.
