The Wallaceburg Lakers will be without leading scorer Ryan Gruszka for the remainder of the 2013-2014 season, as the Belle River, Ontario product has signed to play with the Lambton Shores Predators of the GOJHL.

“The Wallaceburg Lakers are pleased to announce that their leading scorer has graduated to the Jr B ranks. The Laker Organization wish Ryan all the best and are proud to have been part of his development,” said Lakers GM Brian Griffith in a news release.

Gruska had 15 goals and 23 assists in only 26 games for the Wallaceburg Lakers this season, totaling 38 points for the last place club.

With the Lakers almost certainly out of playoff contention, Gruszka will now look to help Lambton Shores, who sit in the 8th and final playoff spot in the GOJHL’s Western Conference.

Gruszka, a 5’11” forward, played his first game for Lambton Shores Tuesday in a 7-3 loss to the red hot Chatham Maroons.
