After being demoted from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack to the ECHL’s Greenville Road Warriors, Chatham’s Jason Missiaen came out playing with something to prove.

The 23-year-old netminder record a shutout, making 40 saves, against the Wheeling Nailers in his first start back in the ECHL. The 6’8″ goalie earned First Star honours for his performance, and helped Greenville to a 3-0 win.

Twice, the ECHL goalie of the week in his time with Greenville, Missiaen struggled with Hartford this season, but also had an opportunity to back up Henrik Lundqvist with the New York Rangers for a stint this season.

This is Missiaen’s third professional season, splitting time between Greenville, and the American Hockey League’s Connecticut Whale and Hartford.

Greenville plays three games next weekend, two on the road against Evansville, and one at Toledo.
