Agosta-Marciano Scores Twice In Birthday Win
Agosta-Marciano, who hails from Ruthven, Ontario, is a former member of the Chatham Outlaws and Chatham-Kent Cyclones.
After falling behind in the second period, Canada, lead by Agosta-Marciano, fought back in the third period to take a 3-1 lead.
The occasion was extra special for Agosta-Marciano as she was celebrating her 27th birthday.
The USA would score with just over a minute remaining, with the goaltender pulled and an extra attacker, but could not even the score, despite a late Canada penalty for too many men on the ice.
Agosta-Marciano was named the games first star. She is the reigning Olympic MVP.
Canada will now move on directly to the semi-final February 17.
