The 15U Chatham Ballhawks girls volleyball team won silver medals in OVA’s McGregor Cup held Saturday at CKSS. The team faced tough competition from the 9 teams entered in the “Championship Division.”

The 15U Ballhawks started the tournament in a difficult pool, which featured the eventual 1st, 2nd, and 4th place teams. The Ballhawks lost to the KW Predators 20-25, 25-21, 15-8, and defeated Essex South County 25-21, 25-7, to finish 2nd in pool play.

In the quarterfinal, the Chatham Ballhawks beat the Woodstock Warriors 25-22, 25-23, before beating South County 23-25, 25-18, 25-11 in the semi-final, to again face the KW Predators in the final.

After splitting the opening games 25-8 and 22-25, the Predators edged Chatham 15-11 to take the championship, and hand the Ballhawks a silver.

Next action for the 15U Ballhawks is in 2 weeks when they play up into a 16U tourney.
