After opening their second round Great Lakes Junior C playoff series with two straight wins, followed by a bizarre washed out game, the Blenheim Blades have dropped two straight and now sit deadlocked 2-2 with the Belle River Canadiens.

Tuesday in Belle River, Mike Ditty and Hunter Corp scored early for Belle River to put the Blades down 2-0 in the first. Dylan Bonner, with assists coming from Kellen Kaniecki and Brayden Seliga, would cut the Canadiens’ lead to 2-1 before the frame was out.

The second period saw only Belle River on the scoresheet, as the Blades fell into a 4-1 hole heading into the third period.

After Zach Horvath scored midway through the third, Blenheim’s momentum was almost instantly deflated as Sebastian Kanally scored for the Canadiens to make the score 5-2, which is how the game would end.

Game five is Thursday at 7:30pm in Blenheim.
