Two Chatham Maroons walked away with some serious hardware from the GOJHL’s Western Conference awards banquet at the Marconi Club in London, Ontario Monday.

Kyle Brothers received the CHOK Player of the Year Award as league MVP, the Hugh McLean Award as the league’s leading scorer, and was named a Conference First Team All-Star.

Brothers finished the GOJHL regular season with 57 goals and 65 assists for 122 points in only 47 games. He participated in the GOJHL all-star game and was the Western Conference Offensive Player of the Month for October, December, January.

Verboom, the Maroons’ captain this season, won the Chester Pegg Memorial Award for Outstanding Ability and Sportsmanship. Verboom was the GOJHL’s third leading scorer this season collecting 30 goals and 64 assists for 94 points in only 43 games. He was also named the Conference’s Offensive Player of the Month in September.
