Chatham’s Anique Daley and the Fanshawe College Falcons will try to steal an OCAA women’s basketball title this Thursday, February 27 when they go for gold at Mohawk College.

Facing the undefeated Algonquin Thunder, who are 16-0 on the season at 3pm, Fanshawe and Daley will need a big performance to capture gold following their 47-40 semi-final win over Seneca College this past weekend.

Daley, a John McGregor Secondary School graduate, hit a key layup after driving the baseline late in the fourth quarter, extending Fanshawe’s lead to three points after Seneca had pulled within one. Daley finished the semi-final tied for a team high 10-points in the win.

In the regular season, Daley played in 16 games, starting 5 for the Fanshawe Falcons, averaging 4.4 points per game, and 4 rebounds per game.

Fanshawe enters Thursday’s final against the CCAA’s 4th ranked Algonquin with a 13-5 record overall.
