Dr. Ytsma Comeback of the Week: Canada’s Golden Girls
All of Canada was on the edge of their seats to see one of the most dramatic comebacks the hockey world has seen in years. Team Canada’s women’s team however, would fight back against the USA to capture an Olympic Gold in Sochi, and complete the Dr. Sarah Ytsma Comeback of the Week for the week ending February 26.
Trailing 2-0 to the USA with less than four minutes remaining in the gold medal game, Canada’s gold hopes looked bleak.
Brianne Jenner would start Canada’s comeback, scoring with 3:26 remaining. Then, with only 55 seconds left in the game, Marie Philip-Poulin would score to tie the game 2-2.
In overtime, Philip-Poulin played the hero, completing Canada’s comeback, and lifting her team to a gold medal.
