Kent Girls Volleyball Champs Crowned
At the senior girls ‘AA-AAA-AAAA’ final, sweeping the CKSS Golden Hawks 25-16, 28-26, 25-12. CKSS entered as the top seed for the tournament, but UCC dominated from start to finish. The Lancers will now host Sarnia St. Patrick’s in the SWOSSAA ‘AAAA’ semi-final this coming Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The victory was a first for UCC, as it was the school’s first ever Kent Senior Girls volleyball title.
CKSS will also move on to a SWOSSAA semi-final of their own, hosting Sarnia Northern Tuesday at 7pm, with the winner moving on to the SWOSSAA ‘AAA’ final.
In the senior girls ‘A’ final, the Chatham Christian Flames also swept their way to a title, defeating Blenheim 25-11, 25-8, and 25-12.
At the Junior level, UCC again swept CKSS, and Chatham Christian beat Dresden in three straight games to take the ‘AA-AAA-AAAA’ and ‘A’ titles respectively.
