Lancers OFSAA Bound After First SWOSSAA Win

Days after winning their first ever Kent Senior Girls volleyball title, the UCC Lancers volleyball team captured a SWOSSAA crown and secured their position at OFSAA. It was another first for the Lancers, as it was the school’s first Senior Girls volleyball SWOSSAA title.

“Led by our setter Sheridan Rogers, veteran power hitter Michaela Hanley and right-side hitter Arden Laurie, the squad made history again,” said UCC Lancers head coach Jeff Phaneuf of his team’s win over the Windsor St. Anne Saints.

UCC took the opening game 25-21 before St. Anne bounced back to win the second game 25-19.

The Lancers however, rebounded quickly and won the next two games 25-15 and 25-19 to capture their first SWOSSAA title.

The UCC Lancers will now travel to Barrie March 3-5 to compete in the OFSAA ‘AAAA’ Volleyball Championships.
