Blondeel Wins OUA Crown With Windsor
Windsor defeated McGill 3-2 in the OUA final, with Blondeel picking up two penalty minutes in the final.
“Surreal experience,” said Blondeel of winning the OUA crown. “Certainly didn’t come easily, feels amazing.”
Blondeel had an assist in the OUA semi-final, helping Windsor defeat Lakehead 6-2 last week, and finished the playoffs with a goal and an assist in 8 games. In the regular season, Blondeel finished with 2 goals and 6 points in 25 games played.
The CIS Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Saskatchewan starting this Thursday, March 20. For Blondeel, there is only one outcome he and the Windsor Lancers are eying.
“Winning a national championship,” Blondeel exclaimed when asked what he hopes to achieve this week.
Windsor will enter the University Cup tournament as the third ranked team in Canada.
