Kyle Hope Finishes OHL Career
Hope, who was held pointless in the game, finished the OHL playoffs with one goal and 15 penalty minutes in five games. Hope had the best regular season offensively of his five year OHL career in 2013-2014, collecting 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points in 54 games.
The Owen Sound Attack were eliminated 4 games to 1, including a 6-1 drubbing Friday to finish the series.
“This league has been a pleasure to play in and such a great experience all five years,” Hope told CKSN in an interview last month about his OHL career coming to a close. “I came in as a wide eyed 16-year-old and I have grown so much on and off the ice, it’s been amazing.”
In total, playing five seasons with Owen Sound and the Oshawa Generals, Hope competed in 268 regular season games and 31 playoff games, collecting 49 goals and 82 assists in that span. Through those 299 games, Hope also had 482 penalty minutes.
Known as a tough competitor, Hope has attended NHL camps with the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks over the past two summers, and will hope to land a professional contract this offseason.
Hope was part of a stellar draft class from the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ program, which also included Seth Griffith and Dane Fox, when he was originally selected in the 3rd round by the Oshawa Generals in 2009.
