Maroons Go Up Two
The Chatham Maroons are up 2-0 on the LaSalle Vipers in their GOJHL Western Conference semi-final series. Chatham took game one 4-3 on Thursday, and then won game two 3-2 Friday night.
Michael Levesque opened the scoring for the Maroons in the first period, but the Vipers would quickly bounce back and even the score after one, and take the lead on a second period power play. LaSalle would hold their 2-1 lead into the third.
On a powerplay of their own, Trevor Richardson potted the tying goal with defensemen Connor Annett and Nate Pietens picking up assists.
Less than two minutes later, Ian Faubert picked up his second point of the game, this time, the game winning goal to lift the Maroons to a 3-2 win, and giving them a 2-0 series lead.
Jacob Keogh had another strong game in net stopped 33 of 35 shots her faced.
Chatham will travel to LaSalle Sunday, before a possible deciding game Wednesday in Chatham.
