Red Devils 2014 Schedule Released

The Wallaceburg Red Devils are gearing up for their 2014 OLA Junior B Lacrosse season, which will kick off the final week of April.

The Red Devil will kick off their Summer 2014 season April 27 on the road against Sarnia, and will play another road game, Thursday, May 1 against Six Nations, before hosting back to back games for their home opening weekend.

Wallaceburg’s home opener will take place Saturday May 3 against Guelph, before they host Brampton on Sunday, May 4.

Wallaceburg’s regular season will conclude on June 20 against Owen Sound, when the Red Devils will hope to punch their playoff ticket after missing the postseason last year.

In 2013, the Red Devils finished third in the OLA Far West Division with a 9-11-0 record, which failed to qualify the team for the postseason, a year after their deepest playoff run in over a decade. Wallaceburg however, did enjoy several individual success stories, as leading scorer Jordan Durston, and captain Joel Shepley both signed and played for the Six Nations Arrows Junior ‘A’ lacrosse team near the close of the season.

After a disappointing finish to 2013, the Red Devils made changes in the offseason, bringing in Jamie Knight as the team’s new bench boss.

He’ll try to guide Wallaceburg back to the playoffs when the OLA Junior ‘B’ lacrosse season starts April 27.
