Tartans Swimming At OFSAA

Continuing their excellence in the pool, the Wallaceburg District Secondary School Tartans will again be sending numerous swimmers to the OFSAA swimming championships in Brantford, Ontario March 4-5.

Shane Outridge qualified as a Senior boy in both the 50m and 100m freestyle divisions. Kate DeKoning qualified for the senior girls 50m freestyle. David Metayer also qualified at the Senior boys ranks in the 100m breaststroke and 100m Individual Medley. All three were LSSAA champions.

Outridge and Metayer will join Jared Floin, and Jack Cavanaugh, who is the only swimmer in Wallaceburg history to win an OFSAA gold medal, in the senior boys 4x50m medley relay.

At the Junior level, Dylan DePooter qualified in the 50m butterfly, while Chelsey Johnson, qualified in the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke.

Cavanaugh, Metayer, Outridge, and DeKoning are all OFSAA veterans.
