Jacob Keogh is a 20-year-old hockey player from Barrie, Ontario. Keogh is currently the starting goaltender for the Chatham Maroons of the GOJHL.

Acquired midway through the 2013-2014 season from Cambridge, Keogh has stole the show since arriving in Chatham, posting spectacular numbers, and serving as the backbone to Chatham’s ascent up the GOJHL Western Conference standings.

An Eastview Secondary School graduate, Keogh is hoping to play college hockey next season, and has turned heads since coming to the Maroons and being named the GOJHL’s Western Conference Goaltender of the Month in December.

Below are Jacob Keogh’s answers to CKSN’s Five Questions:

1.What is your career sports highlight/top memory?

The top highlight of my career is actually this season with the Maroons. I have had good experiences in the past, such as playing in the OHL for Barrie, or winning the All Ontario’s in Peewee AA, but my favourite would have to be this current season. It is my last season playing junior hockey and so far I have played one of my best seasons and the team is doing exceptionally well so far.

2. Who is your favourite professional sports team and athlete?

My favourite professional sports team is the Toronto Maple Leafs, partially because I was born and raised by Leafs fans, and partially because it’s the closest team to my home town. My favourite player, however, is Carey Price for the Montreal Canadians. I just really enjoy how calm and collected he is in the net and try to model my play after his.

3. If you could achieve one thing/goal in sports, what would it be?

As per all the other hockey players, I would love to be able to make it to the NHL, however, on a more realistic level, I would love to have my schooling paid for through hockey via scholarship in the States or even Canada.

4. Who has been your biggest sports influence and why?

My biggest influence would have to be my parents. Both are always there for me no matter what, and both hold the title of my #1 fan.

5. What do you love most about playing sports?

What I love most about playing sports is the people I get to meet and places I get to go. I’ve had the privilege of living in 5 different cities in the past 3 years and have met a whole bunch of new people in the process.
