The Allen Americans won their second straight Central Hockey League title over the weekend, and Blenheim’s Jamie Schaafsma played a huge role in the victory, being named the CHL Playoff MVP.

In the playoffs, en route to helping Allen win the Ray Miron Presidents’ Cup, Schaafsma had 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points, including 6 goals and 3 assists in the finals, to lead the Allen Americans in points.

Allen defeated the Denver Cutthroats 4 games to 1, including a 5-2 decision in game 5.

In the regular season, Schaafsma finished in the top 25 in league scoring, notching 21 goals and adding 34 assists in 61 games.

This was Schaafsma’s second season in the Central Hockey League, after playing several seasons in Europe in Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands, for whom he’s also played at the World Hockey Championships.
