Montour Leads Black Hawks To USHL Final
After eliminating Sioux City and…, the Black Hawks will start their United States Hockey League final Friday against the Indiana Ice. Montour, a swift skating defenseman had 5 goals and 9 assists through 7 games to lead Waterloo and the USHL in playoff scoring.
“As a team we have been a great group of guys who come to the rink everyday to work hard and to get better,” says Montour, a former Chatham-Kent Cyclones star about his Waterloo Black Hawks.
“It’s going to be a good series,” says Montour about the USHL final. “Indiana is a tough team, they finished second, we finished first, so it’s the top two teams going after the Clark Cup, so it’s going to be exciting.”
With games Friday and Saturday, Montour, who will play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Massachusetts next year, and who is a rising prospect for the upcoming NHL Draft, will be counted on heavily to continue his production for Waterloo in the Clark Cup final.
