The Wallaceburg Red Devils went 1-1 on the weekend, dropping an important game in Windsor before rebounding to crush the Point Edward Pacers.

After falling 12-11 to the Windsor Clippers earlier this season, Wallaceburg again dropped a close contest to the division leading Windsor squad, losing 8-5 Saturday.

Corey Lucier scored twice in the game, while Mike Myers had a goal and three assists to lead the Red Devils. Neil McInroy and Evan Mathany had the other Wallaceburg goals. It was a notably quiet night for Wallaceburg superstar Jordan Durston, who was held to a single assist.

Windsor has been able to contain Durston in both of their meetings this season.

Sunday, looking to bounce back, Wallaceburg exploded offensively, pounding the Point Edward Pacers 18-5.

Durston found his scoring touch popping the twine twice, and assisting on three other goals in the game. Mike Myers also had five points, scoring once, while Evan Mathany had a hat trick and an assist, and Corey Lucier and Mitchell Lilley had two goals and two assists each.

Neil McInroy and Joel Shepley each scored twice, while Wallaceburg’s other goals went to Mitch Miller, Kyle Dawson, Hannibal Roda, and Keith Dawson.

Wallaceburg will try to duplicate their performance Wednesday as they travel to face Point Edward, before hitting the road to play the Elora Mohawks this Saturday.
