Red Devils Win Home Opener

The Wallaceburg Red Devils bounced back from a tough loss Thursday, to grab their second win of the young season, defeating the Guelph Regals in their home opener.

Playing in front of a healthy crowd at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena, the Red Devils, scored early and often in the game, winning 14-8.

Affiliate player Kyle Dawson had a breakout game, being named the game’s first star after scoring 3 goals and adding 2 assists in the win.

Veterans Mike Myers and Jordan Durston again came to play, as Myers had a goal and 6 assists, and Durston had a goal and 4 assists.

Evan Mathany and Mitch Gagnier both had 2 goal games. Gagnier also added 4 assists, while Mathany had 2 helpers. Other Wallaceburg Red Devils goal scorers were Bronson Bea, Ryan Noel, Neil McInroy, Joel Shepley, and Brock Daugherty.

Wallaceburg plays game two of the their home opening weekend Sunday against the Brampton Excelsiors at 4pm.
