EnviroClean Chatham-Kent Cougar of the Week: Patrick Ezewski
Patrick Ezewski lead the Cougars to their first victory of the season contributing not only defensively but also offensively and on special Teams in the Cougars’ 52-13 win over the North Halton Crimson Tide.
“Patrick has shown he is a well rounded football player that can do it all,” says Cougars President Selwyn Jordan.
“Patrick played LB on the FBU All-Star team where he started and was one of their top tacklers. He also plays wide receiver and tight with Cougars Minor and has excellent hands. Patrick has worked very hard on his kicking outside of the normal Cougar practices, working with various kicking coaches and putting the time in on his own to try and master the art of kicking. Patrick is surrounded with a very supportive Cougar football family with Mom Jaynie and twin brother Darcy who also plays on the team.”
Ezewski lead the defense with 9 tackles including 2 behind the line of scrimmage, which eventually lead to excellent field position for the Cougars. He also contributed on offense with a 25 yard touchdown run on a WR reverse that put the Courgars ahead 13-6 from there they never looked back.
The Riverview student rounded out his triple threat day with a 35 yard punt into the end zone which lead to another Cougars touchdown.
“Congratulations to Patrick Ezewski on his all around performance and his contributions in the Bantam Cougars first victory of the season,” added Bantam head coach Matt Labute.
The Chatham-Kent Bantam Cougars and Patrick Ezewski will suit up again Friday June 13 on the road against the Sarnia Sturgeons.
