Fantuz Will Miss Start Of CFL Season
Injured in Hamilton’s second of two preseason games against the Toronto Argonauts, Fantuz will be unavailable to the Tiger Cats as they open their season in a Grey Cup rematch against Fantuz’s former team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Fantuz’s injury was undisclosed, but the receiver is believed to be on the mend as he was placed on the team’s one game injury list.
Catching three passes for 42-yards in the CFL preseason, Fantuz is looking to build off the 896-yards, averaging 13.8 per catch, he recorded, to go along with three touchdowns last season.
Hamilton is hopeful Fantuz will return for their long road trip to start the season, which also includes stops in Edmonton July 4, and Calgary July 18, before the Tiger Cats return home to play their first ever regular season game in the newly constructed Tim Hortons Field against Ottawa on July 26.
This is Fantuz’s eighth season in the CFL, and his third season with the Hamilton Tiger Cats.
