Jamieson Tour Kicks Off In Blenheim

A total of 105 golfers flocked to Blenheim Golf Club Saturday for the first stop on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour.

The tour features four division this year, Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Collegiate Men’s, and Collegiate Women’s.

Several Chatham-Kent competitors were in action at the opening stop.

Blenheim’s Owen Dorssers placed 11th with a 7 over 79 in the Junior boys division. He was followed by Ridgetown’s Carson McKinlay, who was 12th, shooting an 8 over 80, and Wallaceburg’s Andrew Reaume who placed 21st after shooting 83.

Blenheim’s Nara Sonu shot an 89 on the Junior women’s side, good for 8th place.

At the Collegiate level, Ridgetown’s Crawford McKinlay was third, after finishing one over par with a 73. Chatham’s Laura Martin was one of only two competitors in the women’s collegiate division. She shot an 88, good for second.

The tour will continue June 30 in Pointe West.
