Lavoie To Swim With Delta State University

Wheatley’s Cody Lavoie has signed a letter of intent to swim with Delta State University, an NCAA Division II swimming program located in Cleveland, Mississippi.

Lavoie, who currently swims with the Windsor Essex Swim Team, is a former member of the Tilbury Vikings swim team, which has produced multiple University level swimmers over the past five years.

“I’ve been looking forward to the opportunity of swimming at college level for a very long time,” says Lavoie. “It’s been a dream to be able to receive a scholarship and compete against the best swimmers in the world.”

Graduating from Leamington District Secondary School, Lavoie will study Sports Management at Delta State University, while he competes for the Statesmen Swim Team.

“When I attend Delta State I want to be able to qualify for NCAA Championships my first year. I need to take a bit of time off but nothing I feel is out of reach,” added Lavoie of his personal goals for his first season with Delta State next Fall. “I want to be able to contribute to the swim team by helping them win the National Title, which is the ultimate goal.”
