New Faces Make Instant Impact With Red Devils

Wallaceburg-Red-Devils-JerseyThe Wallaceburg Red Devils picked up an important two points Saturday, defeating the St. Catherines Spartans 10-8.

Wallaceburg had their new faces, acquired earlier in the week from the Point Edward Pacers, in the lineup for the first time this season, and they had an instant impact on the outcome.

“Sarnia boys obviously are big pick ups,” said head coach Jamie Knight. “Charlton had a great night as well and I thought our D played unreal.”

Dan Charlton scored four goals, while Kevin Conroy had three goals in each players’ debut with the Wallaceburg Red Devils. Conroy’s goal was the game winner.

“Good team effort, it was a playoff type atmosphere,” continued Knight. “Everybody who played contributed.”

Jordan Durston, Neil McInroy, and Corey Lucier had the other Wallaceburg goals, while Mike Myers and Mitch Gagnier each contributed three assists.

Wallaceburg also picked up a win Sunday, as the Hamilton Bengals were supposed to travel to Wallaceburg, however the Bengals were forced to forfeit after they could not make the game due to an accident blocking the 401.

Wallaceburg now sits at 11-5.
