Chatham netminder Joseph Raaymakers is being considered for Team Canada’s Under 17 team, as he will travel to Hockey Canada’s goalie camp this week in Calgary.

Raaymakers, a second round draft pick, 37th overall of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds this spring, will compete as one of 16 invitees by Hockey Canada, for 12 positions at July’s main camp.

A participant in the All State All Canadian NHLPA Mentorship camp last summer, Raaymakers, who starred for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget team this winter, which made the OHL Cup semi-final, the goalie has been on a National radar for some time.

In late April, Raaymakers signed with the Soo Greyhounds, and is expected to start the OHL regular season on their roster and compete for playing time in 2014-2015.
