Blenheim’s Jamie Schaafsma will be returning to the Central Hockey League’s Allen Americans next season, signing a professional contract for the 2014-2015 season.

The reigning playoff MVP for the CHL Presidents’ Cup Champion Allen Americans, Schaafsma is happy to be returning for a third season with Allen.

“I’m happy to be returning to Allen for a third season,” said Schaafsma in an Allen Americans news release. “This is a great community to raise a family and the organization has been first class. With back to back championships seasons the expectations once again will again be high. I’m looking forward to October.”

Schaafsma had 10 goals and 10 assists in the playoffs last season leading Allen to their second consecutive championship, after scoring 21 goals and adding 34 assists for 55 points in 61 games in the regular season. His totals were good for 20th in league regular season scoring.

Schaafsma, who is now 31-years-old, will be at the core of Allen’s lineup as they attempt to win their third straight title.
