Through Daniel’s Lens: The Power Of Teamwork
This week’s column takes us back to St. George’s Field in London Ontario. I remember it well, it was an overcast and cool day and the energy was high for all the teams who walked on to those fields.
The Wallaceburg Tartans Girls Rugby team are one of those teams that will always hold a special place in my heart. When I approached the coaches telling them that I had an interest in taking some pictures of the action they were all super nice to me.
What will always stand out to me from all the pictures I got that day is that one (pictured above) the girls helped me achieve my first group shot of a team and that is something I will always be grateful for.
Game time was amazing. For the opening match they were taking on the St. John’s rugby club who were equally as gifted as they were but the Tartans pushed ahead and It was easy to see that these girls really loved the game of Rugby.
I had to leave at half time to cover the lancers games but I thoroughly enjoyed the opening game. I ran into two of the Tartans later and I am sad to report that they lost their two games but rest assured that the team put their best foot forward take it from a guy who witnessed it 🙂
I look forward to covering more of the Tartans’ Adventures in the future
