Van Herk Dominates The Pool At WOSA Championships
14 Year old Brendan Van Herk owned the podium and swam away with four Gold Medals in the 50m Back (30.18) , Breast (34.44), Fly (28.67) and 100m Fly (1:03.83) events. Brendan also won Silver in the 100m back in a time of 1:05.81.
Rain Pfaff (15) won Silver, finishing second in the 50m Back final in a time of 33.76 seconds. Rain was sixth in the 50m Fly (32.51), 50m Breast (37.78), and 200m I.M. (2:46.10). She finished seventh in each of the 50m Free (30.23), 100m Back (1:12.34) and 100m Breast (1:24.22) events. Rain was also eighth in the 200m Backstroke.
Shania Van Herk (17) had five top ten performances at the meet in the 16 & over women’s age group, placing fifth in both the 50m Back (32.88) and 200m Back events (2:32.79). Shania was sixth in the 100m Back (1:10.82), seventh in the 50m Fly (31.44) and eighth in the 200m Fly (2:48.58).
17 year old River Pfaff had two top ten finishes, swimming to sixth place in the 15 & over 200m Backstroke (2:52.70)finals and seventh place in the 50m Breaststroke finals in a time of 34.95. 13-year old Grace Hansen had two top finishes in the 50m Breast (42.15) and 100m Breast (1:32.33) events. 10 year old Gracin Black swam at Western June 14 and 15 and had two top ten finishes, finishing ninth in the 50m Breast (50.344) and tenth in the 100m Breast (1:51.65)
