South Buxton Raceway’s premier classes will hold double features on Saturday night, including mid-season championships postponed from last week.

The Schinkels Gourmet Meats UMP Modifieds and Westside Performance UMP Late Models will take the track at the start of the race program to run their trophy races.

Leamington’s Joel Dick and Belle River’s Mario Toniolo will have front row starts in the 25-lap Modified mid-season championship, as the starting grid is set by points.

Dick, who has eight feature wins in 10 weeks and leads the division standings, is the defending mid-season champion.

In the Late Models, the 2013 season champions will have front-row starts – championship race winner Jim Jones and two-time points champion Gregg Haskell, both of Chatham – for their 20-lap mid-season title race.

Ridgetown’s Dale Glassford, the defending mid-season champion, will not be in the field since he was not in attendance last Saturday night. In circumstances when a race night is postponed before features are run, only those drivers who listed in the starting field are allowed to run the rescheduled race.

Glassford, and any other drivers in the two classes who missed last Saturday, will be eligible to run in the regular features, which take place after the intermission.

Last Saturday’s program came to a halt by a 15-minute downpour moments after the Tirecraft Mini-Mods mid-season championship finished.

Chatham’s John Pinsonneault won the Mini-Mod mid-season race.

Merlin’s Eren Vanderiviere and Blenheim’s Jeff Schives won the Tirecraft Sport Stocks and Autotech Bombers mid-season races, respectively.

The Sport Stocks, Mini-Mods and Bombers will run their regular preliminary and feature races.

This Saturday will be Christmas In July, with many door prizes to be handed out to fans.

The track is also asking fans to donate non-perishable food items, new unwrapped toys and used winter coats for local charities.

The grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
