Corrente Heating Up With Burlington Bandits
Corrente, who plays college baseball for the NAIA’s St. Catherine College Patriots is in his first season with Burlington, and recently got his first start since recovering from multiple Tommy John surgeries, when he played for Erie Community College.
“Felt pretty good to get my first start in the IBL,” says Corrente of the opportunity. “That was my first start since 2011 while I was at ECC, but all in all the arm felt really good for the amount of pitches that I threw.”
Corrente took the loss for the last place Bandits 5-2 to the London Majors, before getting another start this past weekend. Playing a relief role until his start, Corrente is happy with the experience and calibre of play in Burlington.
“It’s been really good experience in Burlington, the league is very competitive and tough league to pitch in.”
Despite the positive strides Corrente has made, he’s still hoping to accomplish more in the remainder of the season.
“There are many things me and the team are looking to accomplish,” says Corrente, who some day hopes to turn professional. “When I do get my chance to throw I just go out there and do what I do, go out there and throw strikes and get outs. It’s been a real up and down season and we have a really young team, so we’re looking to bounce back and make the playoffs with just a month left of the season to go.”
