Chatham’s Andy Fantuz will miss another week of CFL action following an injury he suffered in a preseason game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Missing last week’s season opening loss, a 31-10 decision against his former Saskatchewan Roughriders, Fantuz was absent from team practices while the Tiger Cats remained in Saskatchewan after the game to continue their West Coast road trip.

Fantuz will not be in Hamilton’s lineup Friday against the Edmonton Eskimos, and there is no timetable for his return.

Catching three passes for 42-yards in the CFL preseason, Fantuz is looking to build off the 896-yards, averaging 13.8 per catch, he recorded, to go along with three touchdowns last season.

Hamilton will next travel to Calgary on July 18, before the Tiger Cats return home to play their first ever regular season game in the newly constructed Tim Hortons Field against Ottawa on July 26.

This is Fantuz’s eighth season in the CFL, and his third season with the Hamilton Tiger Cats.
