Free Lacrosse Program Coming To Walpole Island
Wallaceburg and area youth will be benefitting next month from a free lacrosse program brought to the community through a partnership between the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centrea, Bkejwanong Youth Facility, and the Iroquois Lacrosse program.
The Physical Culture Lacrosse Program is a free lacrosse mentorship program or youth aged 6-18 years, and will come to the Walpole Island Sports Complex from August 11 to August 15, 9am-4pm.
According to a release by Wallaceburg lacrosse, “the camp will present youth with the basic skills required to participate in the game of lacrosse. Youth will be provided the opportunity to learn, develop, and master many different aspects of the game. The program will incorporate the current styles of the game while incorporating the tradition, history and culture that brought us the creators game.”
Lunch will be provided daily, and every participant will be provided with a lacrosse stick.
As well, National Lacrosse League players are expected to make special guest appearances throughout the week.
