Chatham Maroons sniper Kyle Brothers will be playing college hockey next season, as the former GOJHL top scorer has signed to play with the Adrian College Bulldogs in NCAA Division III.

“I chose Adrian because of their winning record, being on a team like Chatham last year made me hungry to win and for a championship,” said Brothers, who was the GOJHL Western Conference player of the year, and offensive player of the month three times.

With Chatham last season, Brothers had 57 goals and 65 assists for 122 points in 47 games, and added another 17 points in 11 playoff games.

“Playing for the Maroons helped me earn this opportunity by showing Adrian my potential on a really talented team,” said Brothers. “I would have never achieved what I did last year without the good coaches and talented teammates

Jake Flegal, an assistant captain with the Chatham Maroons last season currently plays for the Michigan based Adrian Bulldogs.

In other Chatham Maroons news, late season acquisition Charlie Izaguirre will also play NCAA DIII hockey next season with Lake Forest, a team located near Chicago.

Also, defenseman Blayne Oliver has signed to play with the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL. Oliver, a Blenheim resident, is the third local player to sign with Junior A team outside Southwestern Ontario. CKSN will have more on Oliver in the coming days.
