Allin Ready For Success At The Next Level
The 6’7” Allin finished a long, successful career in the Chatham area this spring with the Ursuline College Lancers and will attend Wilfrid Laurier University in the fall, where he will study arts.
Allin will be following the footsteps of one of his older brothers, Max Allin, who led the Golden Hawks in scoring for three consecutive years before graduating. Max now plays professionally in Australia with the Southern Peninsula Sharks.
“Max introduced me to the quality of the Basketball program at Laurier. I knew it had a great program but for him to show me the ins and outs of the daily schedule of a varsity player really had a great impact on my decision,” says Allin, when asked about the influence his brother had on his decision to attend Laurier.
Allin also had a successful career in high school, where he notched three MVP Awards, and two Championships for the Lancers.
“High school was a really great growing stage for me. It’s where I took my game to the next level and really got experience playing against other great players from all around,” says Allin, who led the Lancers in scoring all 4 years of his high-school career.
Allin, however, does not want his basketball career to end at Laurier, but wants to play professional after University.
“That’s the goal and has been my dream since I was young. Basketball was integrated into my family ever since I was born and it would be great to fulfill a lifetime dream.”
Allin comes from a family where four of his five older brothers played basketball at the University level.
Allin also cannot wait to play the nations most talented individuals.
“There’s going to be a lot of great players in the next level and my job is to go in and try to make the greatest impact I can in the game. I’m willing to do what it takes to help my team win,” says Allin.
In the end, Allin accredits his success to his humbleness and ability to listen and adapt.
“I believe I can improve on numerous aspects of my game and if coach tells me I need to work on something, I will put in the work to develop my game further.”
The Laurier Golden Hawks will tip off Friday, November 7th against the Ryerson Rams.
