In a whirlwind summer that has seen Bridget Carleton represent Canada at the U17 World Championships in the Czech Republic, and being named to Canada’s National Junior Team, Carleton is now ready to suit up for the Canadian Junior Team at the U18 FIBA Americas.

The tournament, which runs from August 6 until the August 10, will see Canada face El Salvador (August 6, 5:15pm ET), Mexico (August 7, 5:30pm ET), and the USA (August 8, 7:30pm ET) in the round robin portion of the tournament, with the semi-finals and finals taking place August 8 and 9.

For Carleton, it’s another opportunity to put on the Team Canada sweater, and represent her country, this time at the highest level she’s ever competed at.

“It’s an honour to be able to represent Canada on two different teams this summer,” said Carleton about the opportunity to play for Canada’s Junior team. “It’s always an amazing experience.”

The star and leading scorer of Canada’s Cadette team, and one of only three players her age selected to the Junior team, Carleton will now face bigger, stronger competition, something she’s prepared for.

“Playing against older competition just means it will be that much faster and more physical. It will be a little adjustment, especially playing with different people but I’m really looking forward to it.”
