The Dresden Jr. Kings fell to the Alvinston Flyers 5-2 Friday in Dresden as the Kings continued their preseason schedule.

With teams across the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League continuing to fill out their rosters, both teams fielded a mix of veterans and rookies in the game.

Kings veteran Derek Daly opened the scoring in the first period, with assists going to Marcus Kierseblick and Evan Cameron.

Matt Gough and Joe Archer would then score to put the Alvinston Flyers ahead, before Ross Krieger, who was signed as the Dresden Kings 16-year-old for the upcoming season, scored his second goal of the preseason to tie the game 2-2. Assists on Krieger’s goal went to Kain Hopkins and Dillon Liberty.

Dresden however, wouldn’t get on the board again as Hunter Bryce, Kirk Dorman, and Josh Moore would score for the Flyers to put them ahead 5-2.

Dresden won their opening preseason game 5-2 over Mooretown on Thursday.

Dresden has two remaining preseason games, September 5 when they host Mooretown, and September 6 in Alvinston, before they open their regular season Friday September 12 when they again host the Alvinston Flyers.
