MP Bev Shipley and Madison BroadConservative Member of Parliament Bev Shipley, who represents the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex riding, met with Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad this week to honour her for her successes this July at the Canadian Age-Group Swimming Championships.

Presenting Broad with a certificate for her successes, Shipley said it’s nice to see a young athlete with such a strong work ethic and big future goals.

“She’s a young gal with a lot of enthusiasm and an incredible work ethic that will take her a log way,” said Shipley.

“Very keen young lady,” he added of Broad, who won two gold and two silver medals, and met three Senior National times at the recent Age-Group Championships.

“I asked her about the Olympics and she said in two years she hopes to be there. I always appreciate a young person who has goals and a vision to move forward,” said Shipley, “I wish her well.”

Broad, who is thirteen, swims for the Chatham Y Pool Sharks.
