The Wallaceburg Sting capped off a successful season on Saturday, August 16th, with a 1-0 road victory over the London Scottish.

The game’s only goal came mid-second half when Mark Foster crossed in a ball from the left wing that Brad Langstaff got a foot on and buried between the pipes. Sam Youlton posted the shutout.

The Sting currently sit atop the WOSL First Division standings with 29 points (8 wins, 5 ties, 3 losses).

The Sting, looking for promotion to the WOSL’s Premier Division for the 2015 season, will have to play the waiting game however, as the White Eagles and London English each remain only 3 points back with 3 and 4 games in hand, respectively.

The First Division’s top two clubs at season’s end will earn promotion to the WOSL’s Premier division for the 2015 season. The Sting, who re-scheduled games to fast-track their season, will now watch and wait as the White Eagles and London English complete their season.
