Watling To Play For Maple Leafs At 2014 Rookie Tournament

Watling played 102 games for the Maroons between 2009 and 2011, and was a GOJHL Western Conference First Team All-Star in 2011.
Earlier in August, Watling, who played for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds last season, signed with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, who are the top affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs.
Last season with the Soo Greyhounds, Watling had 18 goals and 36 assists for 52 points in 65 games, and was awarded the Roger Neilson Memorial Award as the OHL’s top overage scholastic hockey player.
Toronto’s rookies open the tournament Saturday, September 13 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
