Blades Shutout Again, 73s Get Hot
The Blades only managed 22 shots against Essex netminder Noah Hedrick Tuesday, while Klinton Kenney was finally solved by his opposition, making 32 saves on 36 shots.
Essex received goals from Daniel Slipchuk, Jordan Ryan, Tyler Scott, and Anthony Cristofaro.
After dropping their opening two games of the GLJCHL season, Essex has won four straight, outscoring opponents 19-3 in that span.
Through the first four games of the Great Lakes Junior C season for Blenheim, only the Wallaceburg Lakers are averaging fewer goals per game than the Blades, who have scored six goals in that span.
Blenheim will try to get back on the scoresheet, and into the win column as they face the Mooretown Flags on the road Saturday, followed by the Alvinston Flyers at home Sunday. Both Alvinston and Mooretown are off to slow starts, making this a crucial weekend for the Blades to get back above .500.
