Brock Philips Lands With The Fergus Devils
Philips, who played minor hockey in Chatham until 2006, was drafted in this years OHL Priority Selection Draft in the 5th round, 100th overall by the Guelph Storm. He will be Fergus’ underage 16-year-old player for this coming season.
“I’m excited to get a chance to play against older, bigger, and stronger guys,” says Philips, who stands six-foot-four himself.
“I hope as a team we have a great season and make a good playoff run. I’m going to use this opportunity to develop as a player to crack an OHL roster.”
Philips, who played last season for the Alliance champion Waterloo Warriors Minor Midget ‘AAA’ team, now lives in Fergus.
The Fergus Devils will open their 2014-2015 Junior C season Sunday, September 14 against the Caledon Golden Hawks.
