The Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League season is underway. Who is the top dog to open the season? Who will emerge as the team to beat? Mark Hagerman lays it out in CKSN’s Week One Great Lakes Junior C Power Rankings.

The Canadiens continue to do everything right for a new team with young faces. Kanally leads his team by example and thus far the results are positive.

The 73’s took a big hit this year on the bench after a solid 3 year run in the
OHA. Bromley has been instrumental in bringing this new team up to speed.

Amherstburg-Admirals-Logo#3 Amherstburgh Admirals / Last week #2

The Admirals only slightly nudged from 2nd spot are showing hints of discipline.

This is a team on the move and hungry to succeed. Time will tell.

Dresden was in dire need of a net minder and acquired Tricker to anchor the Kings. A solid back to basics system coupled with hard work spells success in Dresden.

Blenheim-Blades-Alternative-Logo #5 Blenheim Blades / Last week #4

The Blades Re-Build from the pipes out, down 4 proven scoring leaders.

Klinton Kenny answers the call in net but will it be enough over the long haul.

The Lakers should continue to build the team that upset the best teams in 13/14. Look for Wallaceburgh to press the league for a playoff birth this season.

    Pretty tough to call this early, but I don’t disagree with any of these placements. I think fans were picking the Blades to get out to a hotter start, and I’m not sure the Sharks were expected to limp out of the gate.

    It’s a pretty equal playing field from the games I’ve caught so far. Unlike in years past with the Essex 73s, no one is unbeatable in 2014-2015.
